Introduced Into Real Life with Leigh!

This week we interveiwed a real estate agent named Leigh. She owns a company called Remax. Leigh grew up on a farm. She had the easiest job on the farm. All she had to do is drive the hay truck. She went to school at UNC at Chapell Hill. In college she tried four different careers. One was wanting to be a music teacher. Leigh also worked as a waitress at a resteraunt to pay of her tuition. She says that we should do things digitally because that knowledge will help us find a job. Some advice from her is try to be something else instead of what people think of you. I would describe Leigh as a outgoing persevering person.

The sky is the limit!

This week I just got done with a project that was two weeks long. The project I was working on was finding a future college and designing my pennant. The pennants are for what college we want to go to our degree and the mascot or symbol of the college. My college degree is in engineering. I want to be an engineer because I get to build electronics to help people in their everyday lives. My career would be under categories like tech design and robotics. The reason why I want to be is because when I was six I had a toy helicopter, I asked my mom if I could take it apart and she said yes. After about 25 minutes I had made a car out of the helicopter. When I showed my dad he was in shock because I told him " I would rather build than play outside, that why I wanted to be an engineer. I The college I would like to go to is at Tennessee State University in Nashville , Tennessee. The reason I chose this college is because it is a big college and I want to meet a lot of people. I've always been an antisocial person, I'm an independent person with a brain that  never stops thinking, even when I'm sleep. I can't work with people who don't think like me sometimes because I work by myself if I have the choice because when I start building or drawing or even thinking there is several ways it can end. So that is another reason I want to go because I want to learn to be more sociable with other people. The quote I always follow is You Only Live Once and I will follow that until the end of my days.

Architecture: Constructing An Education On Careers With Michael!

This week we interviewed an architect named Michael. He works at Odell Associates as an architect. Being an architect means you have to be creative with your designs.  He has to work with people like lawyers and engineers to assure that people will be safe. Architects have to sketch a building before making it. Some good advice he gave us was make sure you're learning in the process of your career. When he worked and didn't succeed someone always encouraged him to try again. An interesting fact about Michael was that his favorite subject in school was art. He says he has to work as a team to get all his sketches done right. Michael has a very dangerous job because when he is working the house he is building there is always a chance that the building could cave in. Some more good advice is to ask about the world around you so you'll understand things better. He also says find your ability and use that ability it. A piece of advice from me is the sky is the limit so you can be whatever you want to be.

Adventures Into Interviews : John

Welcome to my blog! Every week my class will interview someone new and learn about their education and career. Our weekly interviews will be a part of our" We've  Got Our is On Careers" project.

This week we interviewed John. Some things we learned from John is that you should never give up even when you have a major setback. During the time John was in college his freshman year wasn't so good so when he met his professors they inspired him to do better. Some more advice he gave us was find something that you're interested in and no matter what people say go for it. John had to make a very hard choice. What college did he want to go to? After he made his choice he picked Northern Illinois University. An interesting fact about John is that he was a straight A student after his freshman year of college. At that college he was taking his first steps to get his PHD, then he went to The University Of Chicago to finish getting his PHD. To me I think he would be a good teacher, role model and friend.
